Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) With Quad Rear Camera Setup Launched, The South Korean multinational company Samsung headquartered in Seoul launched a new smartphone on Tuesday in India dubbed as Samsung Galaxy A9. The handset is touted to be the world’s “first rear quad camera” smartphone, it comes with four separate rear cameras with a setup featuring telephoto, ultra-wide, and depth sensors.
Also it features 24 megapixel shooter at the front packed with beauty features and software backed Face Unlock functionality. Key specifications of the smartphone are full-HD+ Infinity Display panel with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio, an octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC processor, 8GB of RAM, Bixby voice assistant, and sports a 3D Glass curved back.

Moving onto the details, The smartphone boots on Android 8.0 Oreo based Samsung Experience UX out of the box, and flaunts a 6.3 inch full HD+ (1080×2220 pixels) Infinity Display with Super AMOLED panel and an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by an octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 System On Chipset that has four cores clocked at 2.2GHz and four cores clocked at 1.8GHz. In terms of memory it comes in 6GB RAM and 8GB RAM models.
Talking about the optics, the phone has a quad camera setup at the back as its USP, along with an LED flash. The setup includes a 24 mega pixel primary shooter along with an f/1.7 aperture, a 10 megapixel telephoto shooter with 2x optical zoom and an f/2.4 aperture, an 8 megapixel ultra wide shooter with a 120-degree lens supporting an f/2.4 aperture, and a 5 megapixel depth shooter with an f/2.2 aperture. The primary sensor of Samsung Galaxy A9 uses a pixel binning technique to combine four pixels into one.
On the front, there is a 24 mega pixel shooter with an f/2.0 aperture. Additionally, it is loaded with handful of beauty features as well as a software backed Face Unlock functionality. This smartphone can recognise 19 different scenes and optimise colour settings to produce shots matching the content. As mentioned above, The smartphone is priced at Rs 36,990 for the 6GB RAM variant in India, while 8GB RAM variant has a price tag of Rs. 39,990. It will go on sale from November 28 2018 in the country through all offline and online e-commerce and other website such as Airtel Store, Amazon, Flipkart, Paytm Mall, snapdeal, and Samsung Shop.
However, customers can avail a cashback worth Rs. 3,000 on purchasing the Galaxy A9 using an HDFC debit or credit card. Nonetheless, Samsung has associated with Airtel to offer the Samsung Galaxy A9 6GB RAM variant through the Airtel Online Store at a down payment of Rs. 3,690 and EMI of Rs. 2,349, while the Galaxy A9 8GB RAM variant will be available at a down payment of Rs. 4,890 and EMI of Rs. 2,449.
Furthermore, customers will also get benefits such as unlimited voice calls, national roaming, and a free subscription to Airtel TV. Lastly, Both 6GB RAM and 8GB RAM variants come in Bubblegum Pink, Caviar Black, and Lemonade Blue colour variants.

Earlier, the South Korean maker launched Ice Blue color variant of Samsung Galaxy s9 and S9+ smartphones. With this release, Ice Blue sits with other options like Burgundy Red, Coral Blue, Lilac Purple, Midnight Black, Sunrise Gold, and Titanium Gray in the Galaxy S9 lineup. The Galaxy S9 model is priced at CNY 5,499 (roughly Rs. 57,000), while the Galaxy S9+ model will retail for CNY 6,499 (around Rs. 67,400), both comes with a free bundled wireless charger.
The Ice Blue colour for the Galaxy S9 starts shipping from November 20 while the Galaxy S9+ will be released later on November 26. The Samsung Galaxy S9 sports a 5.8 inch QHD+ Curved Super AMOLED panel with a 18.5:9 aspect ratio, while the Galaxy S9+ has a larger 6.2 inch QHD+ Curved Super AMOLED panel with the same 18.5:9 aspect ratio.
The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9+ are powered by the Exynos 9810 System On Chipset. The Galaxy S9 comes with 4GB of RAM and a 3,000mAh battery. While the Galaxy S9+ comes with 6GB of RAM and a 3,500mAh battery.
