UC Browser is Removed From Play store | Check Out why ?

Hello readers, we are back to you with a news of UC Browser disappears from Play Store for some reason. But we don’t have to worry as it will be back after a week. So let us discuss in detail what actually happened.

A popular browser in India, UC Browser with more than 500 million downloads around the world was deleted from the Google Play Store. The reason why it is deleted is that the misleading campaigns UC Browser was running. UC Browser is China Based browser and is the first mobile browser in India with more than 100 million users in India. UC Browser has a bigger base than Google Chrome.

On Google Play Store, we can see only UC Browser Mini is listed. The UC Web has given a statement on why UC browser is taken out from Play Store. Artem Russakovskii, an Android Polices founder shared about the email got from the UC Union which talks about UC Browser using ‘Malicious Promotion’ methods.

UC Browser has taken down from Google Play Store

The Spokesperson of UC Browser said in a statement, “We were informed by Google Play about temporary removal of UC Browser from the Play Store for 7 days, beginning 13 Nov 2017, under the reason that a certain setting of UC Browser is not in line with Google’s policy. We have conducted an urgent internal investigation and fixed the problem. The new version has been uploaded to Google Play’s Developer Console and is awaiting evaluation. We will actively cooperate with Google Play for any concern caused by this unintentional error. In the meantime, users can still download UC Browser Mini from the Play Store, an alternative version of UC Browser. We thank Google Play for their understanding and support extended to us. UC Browser new product package will be back on Google Play next week.

As per the reports on Android Central, who shared the mail, the main reason for deleting UC Browser could be “malicious redirect ads served up by UC Web’s affiliates to inflate installs.” The full email is shared on Reddit and on Twitter by the name Mike Ross. Mike is the one who works with UC Browser and he posted a tweet and explained about the app why it is deleted.

The app UC Browser is temporarily deleted from Play Store and will be soon back. Google has also introduced a ‘Verified by Play Protect’ feature, which aims to keep out harmful apps from a user’s phone.
