Airtel TV Hotstar Offer: To counter JioTV and it's rapidly growing popularity, Airtel has set a partnership with India's own famous video streaming platform named Hotstar. As a result of this, Airtel TV app users will get free access to the video content on Hotstar platform same Like JioTv
All Airtel prepaid and postpaid subscribers will be eligible to utilize Airtel Hotsar offer for free using Airtel TV app. Reliance Jio has already signed a partnership with Hotstar majorly for the sports-related content and now Airtel is joining the race of providing free video content for their customers.
#Update 13th April: Reliance Jio filed a case against Airtel for misleading advertisements. In Airtel advertisement, it is appearing as if you will be able to watch T20 cricket matches for free of cost on Airtel 4G network, which is not true. Reality is you will be charged from your normal internet plan and the only free thing is Hotstar LIVE subscription and few more content except the English premium content.

Although you can still watch content on Hotstar for free even without having JioTV or Airtel TV, there are certain limitations like delay in content or only access to non-premium content.
Here is an official response from Hotstar Twitter Handle to Earticleblog:
@phpmyadmin Airtel users can have access to LIVE Sports, LIVE TV Feed at Same Time as TV (ensure the Airtel SIM is your primary SIM and is inserted in SIM SLOT 1) along with access to all videos on Hotstar except for English Premium Content.

All About Airtel Hotstar Free Subscription
Bharti Airtel on 12th Feb signed a partnership with Hotstar to provide free video streaming content to every Airtel prepaid or postpaid customer via Airtel TV app.
JioTV only provide the customer with live coverage of sports event like cricket whereas the normal user who doesn't have Jio plan can still watch the same cricket match but with few minutes of delay.
Similarly, Airtel will also plan such benefits for their customers but you won't be seeing any premium content from Hotstar since it is against the discriminatory tariff regulation to provide such offer.
Hence whatever Airtel is providing you is just the increment of their database with more new video content and not the free subscription to Hotstar premium.
Here is what Sameer Batra, CEO of Wynk which is a partner with Airtel said to media - Hotstar’s rich content library will add immense value to our content play and add to the user experience.

Since Airtel has huge user base hence this will definitely bring a lot of traffic to the video content market. So one way to say that customers are profiting by having entertainment to their hands via Airtel TV app and gainers are Airtel and Hotstar with more user base and engagement.
