How to Report UCC or Spam Calls Online in India

While most of the time users use DND services to block unwanted calls and messages, but it does not act as a proper solution. Users may take further action to report their issues of spamming to their telecom companies to take action against these spammers.
Here we have mentioned different ways to report spam calls and messages in India. So, guys, read the following ways carefully to report and address UCC & Spam.
1. TRAI DND 3.0 App
To register complaints about spam and block unwanted commercial communications, follow the steps below to report spam calls & messages online on the DND 3.0 App.

1. First of all, download the TRAI DND App on your smartphone.
2. Launch the App on your device.

3. Then login with your Mobile number, remember if your do not use the app within 30 days, you may have log in again.

4. Once you log in successfully on entering your OTP and number, it will redirect you to the DND App homepage.

5. Then, click on the three lines in the top left corner of the homepage.
6. There you will find different options including Report SPAM Call, Report SPAM SMS, Complaint status, and more.

7. Users have to select what they will here to report about Spam calls or SMS.

8. If you select the Report SPAM Call option. It will show you the list of numbers.

9. From the list of numbers, you will have to select the preferred numbers for which you are looking to report as spam.
It will also show you an other that you will also register report on spam call as Complain UCC (Within 3 Days or beyond 3 days).
2. How to Report Spam Calls Online Via Web Portal
Here are the steps to report spam calls and messages online through the Chakshu portal. Follow these simple steps to report.
1. Visit the Sachar Sathi portal.

2. Then scroll down on click on “Citizen Centric Services” and then on ‘Chakshu‘.

3. At last, fill out the form to report spam/calls.

While filling out the form, it is mandatory to provide accurate information so that DoT and TRAI can take appropriate against against the fake number reported.
3. Via SMS
To register a complaint through SMS, users have to send a message with the details of the unwanted spam calls & messages to 1909.
4. Through Call
Users may also address the report by dialing 1909 to directly register their complaint or report unwanted calls & messages. Users should follow the voice prompts during the call to complete the process.
5. Report Through Telecom Service Provider
If you make sure that the messages or calls you received are selected as spam or UCC, you have an option to register a complaint or report to your telecom service provider (TSP).

Things to Remember Before Addressing & Complaining About Spam
Users always remember the complaints that are reported within the three days of the occurrence, or UCC/Spam are considered valid. Meanwhile, these complaints undergo an extensive investigation and may result in action being taken against the senders.
For example, if anyone received the UCC/Spam on January 15, 2025, then it is necessary to file a complaint before January 18, 2025. Complaints that are reported within three days are considered as ‘Reports’.
While these reports may not lead to direct action against the sender, they contribute to the proactive identification of spammers.
